Belle is an adorable puppy looking for her forever home! She was found dumped in the middle of the median on a busy street. She was severely dehydrated, anemic, covered with fleas, had sarcoptic mange and weighed only 4.6 pounds!!! She has undergone treatment for the mange and has put on some much needed weight. Now that she is feeling much better her personality is shining through! Although we don't know her pedigree, we believe she will remain a small dog under 15-20 pounds. Pierre was rescued by a kind citizen when he was with another dog that was being shot at. He did not sustain any physical damage and definitely doesn't seem to have any ill emotional effects from the traumatic event! He is a happy, friendly guy who is excited to meet new people! He loves playing with other dogs, hasn't been tested with cats, and is great with kids, both young and old. He has been neutered, is up to date on shots, and is heartworm negative! Luckily, she didn't have any physical damage, but she is still learning how to trust people after this traumatic event. She was found on the streets at 10 weeks of age and quickly found a home, but through no fault of her own, the family's situation has changed and we are now looking for a new home for her. Brooklyn has been living in an abandoned house living in deplorable living conditions for an extended amount of time in a very unsafe part of South Houston. A plea was made for several weeks for rescue groups to help this mama dog who had a litter of puppies. When we responded, we found mama Brooklyn and her three surviving pups in horrible shape. Mama Willow and her 6 puppies were found living under a wood pile near Pearland Town Center, south of Houston. Unfortunately, before a rescue could be coordinated, four of the puppies turned up missing. The remaining two, Jasper and Juniper, were quickly scooped up along with mama Willow and are now safe in a foster home. At 5 weeks old, Jasper and Juniper will both be available for adoption in 3 weeks, after April 7. Juniper is more of a social butterfly than her brother. Willow and her 6 pups were living in a large pile of wood at least 30 yards in diameter where they had burrowed tunnels underneath near the Pearland Town Center. We believe they were dumped there by their former 'owners' since they were in relatively good health and since Willow was heartworm negative! Star is our first rescue, the dog that gave us our name. We were approached by a man who's friend gave him a dog when he lost his job. Unfortunately, this man no longer had a job as well and couldn't afford to feed himself much less a dog. So Star was left chained up outside with a kennel and no food for weeks. This poor baby was skin and bones and that night it was supposed to drop below freezing. But the guy handed her over to us and she is on the road to recovery!
